Additional Information: | 1997- "This farmstead contains five buildings, [a house (AHI#118730), large barn (118729) and three smaller buildings (including 118731 and 118732)]. The main house built c. 1900 is a gabled-ell clapboard building with a standing seam metal roof and stone foundation. Decorative Queen Anne style features include a sunburst design in the gable end, and fish scale shingles. The front porch is covered by an extension of the roof line and has been enclosed. The windows throughout the house are one-over-one, double-hung sash with original wood frames. The main facade faces USH 41 and has two entrances; one on the gable end, and the other in the enclosed porch. The gable roof has a shed roof dormer with three small sash windows and a simple brick chimney. Another building of the agricultural complex is a large gambrel bank barn with two concrete silos. The balloon frame building (constructed c. 1900) with vertical wood siding rests on a stone foundation and displays a metal roof. An earthen ramp leads to the side gable entrance. To the rear of the barn is a frame rectangular addition with a seam metal gable roof. Three other smaller buildings are found on the property. One is a smaller barn (c. 1900) with a gable roof, side entry, vertical wood siding, and stone foundation. The second is a side drive crib barn with an asymmetrical gable roof. This building, constructed c. 1890, has a stone foundation and displays clapboard and vertical wood siding. The third outbuilding (c. 1890) is a small rectangular structure with a gable roof and a concrete foundation." -"Harmony, Marinette West, Oconto East and West, and Pensaukee, 7.5", WisDOT#1154-01-00, Prepared by Mead & Hunt, Inc, (1997). |
