Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 1997- "This farmstead consists of four buildings: a main house [AHI#118741], barn [118739], and two outbuildings [118740 and 118738]. The main house is brick with a multi-gable roof and a stone foundation. Designed in the vernacular style with features of the ltalianate and Colonial Revival style, the building was built c. 1890. The ltalianate features on the house are the arched brick lintels and limestone window sills. The cornice returns are features of the Colonial Revival style. The main facade is located on the side gable and has several one-over-one double-hung sash windows. The bam (c. 1890) has a corrugated metal gable roof and a stone foundation. The barn is of frame construction with vertical wood siding. The main doors are on sliding tracks and are located on the side gable. A concrete silo is attached to the rear of the barn. The barn appears to have retained fair integrity. One of the outbuildings, possible a granary, is a simple gable roof structure on a stone foundation, constructed c. 1890. A small enclosed entry with a gable roof has been added to the gable end of the building. Small six-pane windows are found on several facades of the building. Vertical wood siding covers the balloon frame and asphalt shingles cover the roof. The building is in fair condition. The remaining building on the property is a small log building with a gable roof, constructed c. 1880. The entrance is found on the side gable, and a small square window without glazing is found on the gable end. The logs are square hewn with chinking material. The building appears to be in fair condition." -"Harmony, Marinette West, Oconto East and West, and Pensaukee, 7.5", WisDOT#1154-01-00, Prepared by Mead & Hunt, Inc, (1997). |
