Additional Information: | 1997- "This farmstead consists of five buildings: a main house [118743], barn [dairy, 118744], garage, and two outbuildings [incl. 118745]. The two-story gable-ell house, constructed c. 1900, displays limited decorative features. The house retains original clapboard siding and rests on a concrete foundation. The main facade is dominated by a cross gable with two, four-over-four sash windows in the second story. A central entry is found immediately below the second story windows and is covered by a hip roof porch with square column supports. In the ell, the gable-end has two, one-over-one sash windows with pedimented hood molds on the first floor and a central four-pane window in the second story. A decorative side porch is found on the house and consists of a hip roof with decorative spindle columns.
The Wisconsin dairy bam, constructed c. 1900, is timber frame on a fieldstone stone foundation and has a metal gambrel roof with flared eaves. The south facade has three shed roof dormers with four-panes each. On the gable end, two, two-over-two windows are found in the hay loft area. Two entrances to the barn are found, one on each side gable and each consists of a large sliding door. Also found on each side gable are six multi-pane windows located within the stone foundation.
Three other buildings are found on the property. To the rear of the house and barn is a three-bay gable roof garage (c. 1915) featuring exposed rafters. One of the three bays has an original folding garage door with three, four-pane windows. The other two bays have modern overhead doors. A smaller building (c. 1900) [118745] found in front of the house consists of a gable roof with an entry centered between two windows on the side gable. The end gable has a one-over-one sash window. This building may have been used as a hen house. The final building is a nondescript gable roof building covered in asphalt siding. No openings are visible from the road."
