NOTES
Additional Information:This two-story house was constructed by the Honorable D.G. Cheever and was originally constructed as a vernacular Italianate residence. It was a gabled ell sheathed in clapboard. In 1911, the house was significantly altered to reflect the Craftsman style. This transformation included covering the clapboard exterior with stucco, removing the wraparound porch, replacing the original windows with Craftsman style windows, adding a vestibule with a mansard roof to the facade, and adding a mansard bay to the side (south) elevation. The original frame construction and foundation remain. Windows are a combination of one-over-one and four-over-one double-hung sash, casements, fixed pane, sliding, and multi-light. The house displays overhanging eaves and a simple cornice. A modern vestibule with mansard roof has been added to the side (north) elevation.

Barn also on property.
