The front gabled house has a rectilinear footprint with a single story full length porch and a small rear addition. The first story of the house is clad in wood clapboard, while the second story is clad in wood shingles. The gable ends are enhanced with wood shingles and decorative half timbering, and decorative show rafters. The front porch has a shallow pitched half hipped roof. The roof is suppmied by heavy brick posts; the brick post on the southwest corner is missing and has been replaced by a wood post. Between the posts are slender wood railings that extend past the porch deck to the ground. The first story fenestration includes an off-center front door that is pmiially glazed by an oval window. West of the door is a single light window placed high on the wall; a similar window can be found on the east elevation. East of the door is a set of three double hung windows. The first story of the east elevation features a box window comprised of three sash windows with a wide overhanging hipped roof. The second story features evenly spaced multi-light double hung windows. An entablature with modillions delineates the second story from the attic level. A set of three fixed windows with a continuous shelf molding lights the gable at the attic level." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
