It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2015- "This two-story, buff brick, Dutch Colonial Revival house was constructed in 1925. It has a rectilinear plan and side gambrel roof. An enclosed single story porch is located on the north elevation, and a two story addition with a second story enclosed porch is present on the south elevation. A pent roof divides the first and second stories, and an open cross gable supported by brackets shelters the main entrance that is centered on the facade. The symmetrical facade is divided into three fenestration bays. The center bay has the primary entrance on the first story. It is a partially glazed wood door with sidelights and fanlight above. It is sheltered by the open gable roof and accessed by a run of stairs framed by brick walls. The second story of the center bay has a three part casement window with multiple lights in each. The outer two bays have a large window configurations on the first story, a central fixed window with transom flanked by smaller six-over-one sashes. These same six-over-ones are paired on the second story for the outer two bays, and placed singly on the second story of the north elevation. The north porch has a half hipped roof with a balustrade. The porch roof is supported by brick posts. The porch windows are four-over-four with paired storm windows on each. The north addition features a second story porch with gable roof oriented parallel to the house. The porch walls are wood paneled and its windows are fixed single lights. The roof of the house itself features large shed dmmers that span nearly the full length of the facade and east elevation. The slopes are sheathed in asphalt shingles and a brick chimney stack pierces the east dormer. A simple fanlight occupies the attic space of the gambrel ends." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
