Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Washington Avenue Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This one-story brick Bungalow was constructed in 1926. It has a rectilinear footprint made somewhat irregular by a hip roofed sunporch on the southeast corner of the facade. The core of the house has a hip roof, with hip dormers on the facade, west, and east elevations. The roof is clad in asphalt shingles and the dormer walls in stucco. Some modest decorative brickwork on the facade includes a soldier course running below the sunporch windows with a concrete flower motif at its center. There are multiple types of fenestration present on the building. The dormer windows are strings of three wood framed casements with the center windows larger than the outer two. Each window has leaded glass that frame eight smaller lights around a large central light. The primary entrance is off centered on the facade first story. It includes a partially glazed arched wood door with a slender leaded glass arched window to its west. The entrance is atop a concrete stoop with wrought iron railings. Adjacent to the entrance on its east side is the sun porch. The sun porch has a string of four casement windows with divided lights on the facade and east elevation. West of the front door is a bow window, comprised of four casement windows with divided lights. It is sheltered by a simple shed roof." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
