Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Washington Avenue Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This two-story, brick American Foursquare house was constructed in 1916. It has a rectilinear footprint that includes a one story enclosed porch across the facade, and a smaller one story open entrance porch on the west elevation. The enclosed front porch spans nearly the whole width of the facade. It has a low pitched half hipped roof and brick walls with a string of windows across each elevation. The west porch is centered on the elevation over the primary entrance. A small half hipped roof shelters the porch, supported by large brackets and slender posts that rest on a brick knee wall. The house itself has a hip roof with hip dormers on the facade and west slopes. The roofis pierced by a brick chimney stack on the west elevation. Nearly all the windows on the house, including the enclosed porch, are double-hung vinyl replacements, six-over-one in form. Smaller windows are placed in the donners and one on the first story north of the chimney." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
