Additional Information: | Resurveyed 2015 2015- "This two-story commercial building was constructed in 1920. It has a rectangular footprint that is angled on the facade to conform to the shape of Washington Avenue. The building has a flat roof with a low parapet. The second story of the facade is clad in a cream brick, and the first story a buff brick. The facade is framed in brick pilasters with a stone or concrete cap. A limestone band stretches across the upper portion of the facade, it is supported by unevenly spaced modilions. This pattern is continued on the second story windows which include alternating shallow boxed bay windows and singly placed windows, each has stone sills supported by modilions. The windows themselves are one-over-one sashes, and placed in a string of four on the boxed bays. The first story windows are tall single-lights, fixed and tinted. There are two building entrances on the facade, each is sheltered by a fabric awning. The south entrance door has a limestone surround, while the north is recessed into the building." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
