Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Washington Avenue Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This two-story American Foursquare house was constructed in 1919. It has a rectilinear footprint with a one story open porch and balcony above that spans the width of the facade. The porch has a flat roof that serves as a second story balcony; it is encircled by a simple wood balustrade. The balcony deck is supported by battered columns atop brick posts; between the posts are wood railings that extend past the porch deck to the ground level. Centered on the porch is a concrete run of stairs with wrought iron railings. The house has a hip roof that is pierced by hip dormers on the facade and west elevation. Materials on the house include an asphalt shingle clad roof, exterior walls sheathed in vinyl siding, and a brick foundation. The facade is divided into three fenestration bays, which are identical on the first and second stories. The center bay occupies the entrance to the house entrance from the porch on the first story, and entrance from the balcony on the second story. Each is a wood pedestrian door that is partially glazed; they include modern storm doors and are flanked by decorative fixed shutters. The outer two fenestration bays have paired three-over-one vinyl windows. Other fenestration includes a string of three fixed windows with three lights each in the dormers. A boxed bay window with shed roof and string of three sash windows is on the first story of the east elevation." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
