Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Washington Avenue Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. FRONT PORCH ENCLOSED WITH VINYL SIDING. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This two-story, brick American Foursquare house was constructed in 1916. The original foursquare form has been enlarged with a one story shed roof addition across the facade, and a two story enclosed porch addition on the east elevation. The roof of the house is hipped with a hip roof dormer on the facade slope of the core block. The east elevation of the enclosed porch addition has small exposed raters in the eaves. The roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles, the exterior walls of the house, foundation, and porch addition are clad in brick, and the facade addition is clad in vinyl siding. A brick pier and older run of stairs incorporated into the facade addition indicate that it was likely built over a porch. The windows on the addition are nine-over-six vinyl sashes, placed in a string of three at the center of a core block, and placed singly elsewhere. The second story windows on the core block and enclosed porch addition are one-over-one vinyl sashes, and the dormer windows are paired single-light casements. The east elevation windows on both stories of the enclosed porch are wood sash, with multiple lights over a single light. Also associated with the property is a sign north of the house perpendicular to the facade. The sign has a brick base supporting a wood shield sheltered by a small gable roof. It advertises a chiropractic office housed in the building." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
