Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Washington Avenue Residential Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. REPLACEMENT SIDING ON SECOND STORY. Resurveyed 2015. 2015- "This American Foursquare house was constructed in 1909. It has a rectilinear footprint that is expanded by a one story porch spanning the width of the facade. The eastern two-thirds of the porch is enclosed and the western third is open. The porch roof is flat with wide overhanging eaves. It is reduced in size on the west section only partially sheltering the deck. The roof is supported by brick posts over the enclosed section, and a bracket over the open section. The porch deck is encircled by a brick knee wall. Within the porch footprint a run of concrete stairs rises to the building's entrance on the west section. The house has a hip roof with a hip dormer on the facade slope. Materials on the house include asphalt shingles sheathing the roof, a second story clad in aluminum siding, and brick cladding the first story and foundation. Several window types are present on the house; the most prominent arrangement is a string of four multi-light casements across the facade of the porch. The second story windows are double hung aluminum windows flanked by fixed shutters. They are paired on the east side of the facade, and one single window on the west. The dormer has a pair of multi-light wood casements." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
