Additional Information: | Resurveyed 2016: St. Boniface Catholic School was constructed in 1957-58 in a Contemporary style. This 2-story building is L-shaped in plan with red brick walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces north and is asymmetrical in plan. The eastern half of the façade contains no fenestration as it is part of the original gymnasium wing. Rather, its front face contains a rectangular stone recess that contains a stone shrine. The remaining north elevation of the school building contains a pair of glass doors sheltered by a projecting concrete roof with narrow metal supports that rest on projecting brick foundation walls. The entry doors are offset by a glass window wall to the east and a glass transom above. Banks of large 4-pane windows are located in the facade east and west of the entry. The second story contains a row of seven banks of windows, each of which is comprised of a lower pair of single-pane sliding windows and two stacked, single-pane transoms above. |
