| Bibliographic References: | 2001: Tax rolls cite Louis Bender as the owner and a 1926 date of construction, presumably gleaned from valuation changes. 2017: Louis and Ellen Bender reside at 606 S. 3rd Street as of the 1920s and into the 1930s. Also, the address of 208 Pleasant Street is not listed in the 1931 Green Bay City (reverse) directory, which includes De Pere. By 1933, however, the address of 208 is listed and Alfred Reed is identified as living there. However, by 1939, Mrs. Ellen Bender (Louis's widow) is identified as living in the house. Louis died in 1933, at which time they resided at 606 3rd Street, West De Pere: "Funeral Services for L. Bender To Be Held Wednesday," Green Bay Press Gazette, 22 August 1933, page 26. |
