Additional Information: | 2001: This structure was built under the supervision of local building Henry Atkin in 1906-07 and was the parsonage for the Methodist Episcopal Church at Onion River. Although a Methodist church was established in the vicinity at an earlier date, the Onion River church was erected in 1870 and dedicated in 1871. The congregation ensued under the Methodist Episcopal name until 1969, when the Evangelical United Brethern churches united with the Methodist churches nationwide, resulting in the name, Waldo United Methodist Chruch. After 1995, it was apparent that larger quarters were necessary and a new church was constructed on the north side of Waldo. The associated parsonage functioned as such into the 1970's; however, it is currently under private ownership. |
