Additional Information: | November 2001-This two-story, frame vernacular house is set on a concrete block foundation and appears to date from c. 1910. Asphalt shingles cover the roofs. The house is clad with narrow clapboards and trimmed with simple cornice and corner boards. Paired and single 1/1 windows appear. The main block of the house is caped with a hip roof and a gabled, two-story section projects from the west-facing (front) façade. The west-facing gable end displays returned eaves, wood shingles, and three small windows grouped in a Palladian motif (except that the center window is flat-arched). The full-façade, hip-roofed front porch is enclosed with clapboards and exhibits bands of 3/1, double-hung sash windows. A flight of wood stairs rises to the central wood-and-glass door, flanked by multipane sidelights in a Craftsman configuration. The porch enclosure probably dates from c. 1920. A c. 1985 garage stands behind the house. |
