The building is enriched with brick pilasters, decorative brickwork at the cornice, and brick hood moldings over segmental-arched window openings. The front door is recessed within the canted corner entrance. Single pane display windows with paneled wood kickplates flank the entrance both on the Main Street (front facing) façade and on the west end of the Division Street façade. A stone panel inscribed: Bank 1891 is found just below the cornice on the canted corner. Most of the second story windows are boarded. Statement of Significance: The Greenwood State Bank opened in 1891 and closed prior to 1934. The current occupant is the Greenwood Bakery. |
