It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. This farmstead includes a house, pump room and wood shed, root cellar, outhouse, "Eagle shed", "Jackrabbit shed", and dairy barn. The pump room and wood shed are attached to the rear of the house. This farmstead was the home of the Hamerstroms who were internationally respected wildlife researchers and teachers who were trained by Aldo Leopold. The couple developed recommendations that helped preserve the population of prairie chickens in WI. |
