Additional Information: | July-August 2001-This one and a half story, side gabled vernacular brick house features a shingled gable roof and a gable roofed porch extending from the front elevation as well as a small one-story addition at the rear of the house. The original window openings are charcterized by various treatments including arched brick openings on the lower story and rough stone lintels on the front gable. All of the window openings have been filled in with much smaller windows and boards. This vernacualr brick gabled house was constructed between 1892 and 1898. Two small additions were added to the rear of the house in the early 20th century and the gabled front addition was added between 1910 and 1930. This late 19th century house does not meet the criteria of the National Register for architectural significance (Criterion C) because it is not a good example of its style or a good example of a type of construction and it has lost historical integrity as well. The windows have been substantially altered and the porch has been replaced. |
