Hewett was born in Vermont on 22 August 1833 and moved to Racine County with his family around 1852. Between 1858 and 1887, he purchased the subject 136-acre farm. He married Louisa Maria Gates on 1 January 1861 and the couple had six children. Hewett was a well-regarded farmer in the Town of Rochester throughout the late 1800s and passed away prior to 1906. The farm remained part of the Hewett family into the early 1950s. By 1956, Henry Wultke owned the property. Wholesale fenestration replacement.
