Based on Sanborn maps and an 1891 historic photo of the home, the house was "colonialized," sometime after 1903 and likely during the 1910s. The house was sold to Clarence Garton in 1913. Watson's first wife Sarah died in 1890, his second wife Harriet died in 1904 and he married again in 1908 to Eva Paddock. "Crocker Funeral Tuesday," The Sheboygan Press, 21 April 1924, p13.
