NOTES
Additional Information:This two-story, front-gabled, Greek Revival residence has been significantly altered since it was last surveyed in 1974. Vertical board siding covers the primary (west) face of the first floor and a large casement window replaces the original pair of full-size, sash windows along that level. Likewise, the three sash windows along the upper level were reduced from their original size.

Tax records and historic maps indicate that this house was built between 1873 and 1883; however, assessor's records note a circa date of 1860. In any case, the original owner appears to have been Henry Yorton, a farmer and stock dealer. He maintained the subject house until the mid- to late-1880s. In 1888 the house was in the possession of Albertine Prochnow. The house then passed on to Gustave Prochnow, who held the property until the mid-1930s. By 1936, Loretta Bachhuber purchased the house; she maintained the residence into the mid-1950s. Following a fire in 1983, the full-size sash windows were reduced along the second floor and the first floor was completely re-designed with a pent roof and a casement window.
