Additional Information: | Owned by P. Baker from at least 1870-1895. 2021: PHOTO OBSCURED BY DISTANCE AND FOLIAGE. This 2-story Gabled Ell house was constructed c.1870. It is rectangular in plan with clapboard walls and an asphalt-shingled gable roof with a decoratively cut bargeboard and brackets under the gable. The building is comprised of a central 2-story front-gabled mass and 1-story side-gabled masses on each side. The front elevation faces east and contains a 3-sided bay window (containing three 2-over-1 windows) at the first story of the front-gabled mass and a pair of double-hung windows above (the composition of the second story windows is obscured by tree growth). The bay window features small decorative modillions along its eaves. Both side wings feature recessed porches with decorative bargeboards and wood post supports. Windows inside the porches appear to be newer 1-over-1 windows. Although this building was once part of a larger farmstead, an examination of historic and current aerial photos indicates that the existing outbuildings do not constitute an intact historic collection. |
