Additional Information: | THIS HOUSE WAS BUILT "BY NUMBER" BY THE ORIGINAL HOMEOWNER WITH HELP FROM SAM RAY AND ART CARL. THE LUMBER WAS PRECUT AND DELIVERED TO THE SITE. The home was contracted through Capp-Homes, M. Capp Manufacturing Co. 1143 Dupont St., No. Minneapolis. It was Capp-Homes plan no. 26-53. The home is a split level or a story and a half home, not a ranch. It was a pre-cut home with the materials trucked in and unloaded by family members. John Roberts contracted with Capp-Homes for a crew to build the home and that crew put up the home, shingled the home and made it weather proof in three days. Other than the unloading of the materials and with 10 or 12 individuals lifting the floor to ceiling front window my John Roberts did not do any other work on the house. The finish carpentry work was done by Henry Stucki of Neillsville, who worked alone. The interior walls are all plastered walls. The flooring and carpeting was done by Russell's Hardware and Furniture of Neillsville. The basement is believed to have been dug by Hank Markwardt of Neillsville. The landscaping was done by a Mr. Reidel from Lynn, Wisconsin. |
