Additional Information: | In 1909, Edward and Louise Schauer bought the house and lived here until 1919. Edward and his brother, August, operated a hardware, furniture and undertaking business in 1910. Following a 1911 fire, they sold the furniture and undertaking business. In 1921, they sold the hardware business. They later re-entered the hardware business with their sons and Edward also operated a real estate and insurance office. From 1919 until the mid-1930s, Matt Hesprich, proprietor of the Hesprich Oil Co. gas station owned the house. |
