Additional Information: | In 1934, Richard and Marge Miller built a log lodge on the then 100-acre property; a few years later they built a house and two cabins. It was originally known as Silver Forest Lodge. in 1969, Edward and Nona Soroosh purchased the buildings and 88 acres and operated it as the Hid'n Hollow youth camp, which was previously located on Catfish Lake. In 1974, the camp was discontinued and it became The Pinewood Academy, a college prep school for boys with dyslexia. This continued until 1991, when the school closed and the property changed its operations to The Inn at Pinewood, a bed and breakfast. While the cabins are no longer extant, the log-constructed lodge and the house remain, albeit altered. Current owners of the B&B are Bill and Jane Weber. |
