NOTES
Additional Information:Helen and Joe Sawicki began this small resort by building four housekeeping cottages in the late 1940s and adding the main house/office, as well as a final cottage in 1950 (structures are sheathed with either board or drop siding). The Sawickis originally hailed from Chicago; however, they later moved to Milwaukee where Joe worked as a millwright and Helen was employed with Briggs & Stratton. in 1969, Ed and Elaine Reimer, along with thier sister and brother-in-law Wayne and Audrey Hoerchner, purchased the resort (Elaine had previously visited conover as a teenager when the Sawickis owned the property). The Reimers eventually bought out the Hoerchners and they continue to operate the resort today.
