NOTES
Additional Information:2005 - 2-story gabled commercial building sheathed in vinyl siding. The primary (east) facade is comprised of an open, wooden porch (1967) with a centrally located modern door, flanked by modern windows. One-over-one, double-hung sashes are regularly placed along the second level, on all elevations. The front gable is accented with decorative wooden trim. A modern sign projects from the second level that reads "Calhoun Station" a one-story dance hall addition, built in 1916, extends from the west side of the original building.

Built in 1881 by Franz Elger, this building housed a saloon and a post office. Franz was the first postmaster of Calhoun. After Franz died in 1890, his son toney took over the saloon. By 1910, Matt Follman was listed as the hotel's proprieter and it was he who renamed the building Calhoun Hall. In 1916 Follman added a large wooden floored dance hall to the rear of the building. After Follman died 1927, his widow Margaret kept the business until 1937, when she sold it to Jacob Sorenson. Consequent owners include George Kuney and Dale Wagner, the latter of whom added the "Western style front" in 1967. As of 2005 a restaurant/bar operated in the building.
