Additional Information: | June 2005-Dating to the late 1930s or early 1940s, this structure may be/have been associated with the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church-a modern building to the south. The house is constructed of quarried stone. It is a one-and-one-half story, side gable structure, with a prominent front gable wing that projects to the east. The front door is on the right side (north) of the gable wing and is accessed by three steps and framed by two, plain pilasters. To the left (south) of the door is a small picture window flaked by two, one-over-one-light double-hung sashes. A single two-over-two-light window is centered in the gable peak, above which is an attic vent. In the side gable portion of the house to the right (north) of the front gable wing is another small picture window flanked with one-over-one-light double hung sashes. The south gabled endwall contains three, double-hung, two-over-two-light window units on the first floor, and one pair of such windows in the gable peak, above which is another attic vent. Prominent on this house are the straight, stone heads displayed by all windows, as well as plain frieze that envelops the entire structure. A frame garage with clapboard siding is to the south of the house, beyond which is the modern Zion Evangelical Church Building. |
