Additional Information: | DENTICULATED AND CORBELLED CORNICE AND RETURNED EAVES OVER CNR PILASTERS. SEGMENTAL ARCH WINDOWS. TWO 1/2 ROUND WINDOWS IN GABLE END. BLDG ORIGINAL PART OF BEER GARDEN & DANCE HALL COMPLEX LATER KNOWN AS COLUMBIA PARK[Date Cnst:CA]. Previously surveyed in 1975. Matt Adam built this saloon in circa 1865. J.B. Adam ran the saloon until at least 1901. By 1904, the saloon and adjacent dance hall (104 W Dodge St) were known as Columbia Park and was run by Peter Meyer, Jr. Four years later, Peter Schmit was the proprietor. Schmit ran the saloon and dance hall until selling it to John Rosewitz by no later than 1927 (2003). |
