Additional Information: | Rising from a rusticated, concrete block foundation, this two-and-one-half story building is sheathed with brick and has a gambrel rood. The front porch was enclosed enclosed with brick during the historic period. It is defined by an entryway to the far right that is framed by side lights and an overhead transom. Immediately to the left of the doorway is a series of six, three-over-one-light windows. Two similar windows are on the sidewalls of the porch. Enveloping the porch is a plain wooden frieze, above which is a mansard roof that also serves as a railing for the open, second floor porch. Supporting the projecting gable that shelters the second-floor porch is a plain wooden frieze that crowns the entire second floor of the house. Above the second floor porch and frieze is a gambrel peak with two, centered, one-over-one-light windows immediately above which is another frieze defined by eight dentilled brackets. A gambrel rood with standing seam metal sheathing shelters the structure. A small, gabled former on the east side of the rood is sheathed with wooden shingles and has two, double-hung, sash windows. Regularly placed windows on the first and second floors have concrete sills and heads. Sanborn fire insurance maps suggest construction between 1909 and 1920. |
