Additional Information: | 2005- This building was built in 1898 to house the W. H. Cooper Brothers windmill business. Subsequently, it housed the Cady & Ringrose automobile garage and gasoline filling station business and also the Lee Brothers Strawberry Exchange from 1938 to 1968, a period during which Alma Center called itself "The Strawberry Capital of Wisconsin." It is now the only known intact surviving building in Alma Center that was historically associated with industry and especially with the strawberry producing industry. |
