The bandshell in Lake Park was built in 1934 in memorial of the Jaehnigs, both of which passed away in 1933. The house was built between 1917 and 1918 by Edwin & Mary Jaehnig where he became affiliated with the Schmit Bros. Ford Garage. Vernon Biever was born in Port Washington in 1923 the son of Emil and Florence Biever and lived at 773 North Wisconsin Street. After graduating from high school, he attended St. Norbert College in DePere and then served in the army during World War II as a photographer. At the end of the war, he returned to college and graduated in 1948, marrying Frances Marsolek the same year and returning to Port Washington. While managing the family business, the Port Washington Ben Franklin, he continued to take photographs, especially of the Green Bay Packers football team. His award-winning sports photojournalism spanned six decades and appeared in books, magazines, newspapers, and advertising. In 2002, Biever was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. Vernon Biever died in 2010.
