Additional Information: | STILL LARGELY INTACT NINETEEN FIFTIES-SIXTIES ERA GASOLINE FILLING STATION. Notable is the large triangular canopy that is attached to the sales bay portion of the building and which projects out over and shelters the gasoline pumps located in front of it. 2019 - This former Phillips 66 service station was likely built in the early/mid 1960s and is comprised of three components. The central element, in the structure’s southwest corner, is the office off of which an elongated, triangular canopy that sheltered gas pumps projects to the west with a subtle increase in angle. It is anchored at its farthest point from the station by three metal posts, atop which is a sign. Extending to the north is a two overhead door, concrete block service bay while to the east of the office section is a one overhead door, concrete block service bay. While the entire structure has a flat roof, the projecting canopy notwithstanding, that on the office component is not quite as high as the roof on the service parts of the building. The office is notable for its expansive glass windows that extend from floor to ceiling and slant forward, as well as the aluminum frames in which they are set. Entrance doors are in the south and east walls, at each side of the windows. A stone veneer and brickwork further frame the office section. There are new garage doors on the structure and that the concrete block has been painted. |
