Additional Information: | WILBUR JOHNSON WAS A PARTNER IN McCAIN-JOHNSON CO. AND HIS WIFE, LUCILLE, WAS THE DAUGHTER OF C. E. BLODGETT, WHO LIVED NEXT DOOR AT 812 W. FIFTH ST. THE JOHNSON'S HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1923. "In a portion of "Blodgett Heights," a creation of Charles Blodgett, this house was built in 1918 for his daughter, Lucille and her husband, Wilbur M. Johnson. Wilbur Johnson worked for C. E. Blodgett and Sons Grocery Company until 1921 when he became a partner in the McCain-Johnson Company and continued to run the company after Henry McCain's death in 1936. Wilbur was also a veteran of World War I, a member of the Elks and the American Legion. Mr. Johnson was also an ardent Harness horse fan for several years, having owned a number of trotters and pacers which appeared in races here in Marshfield and in all parts of Wisconsin.
