Additional Information: | 1999: The old school building was constructed in 1884 as a replacement for another building that was on the site as far back as the early 1870s. However, the original location of the school was across the road about one-half mile away. This school educated children of the area until the mid-twentieth century. (Plat-maps; Herbert Neuenschwander) Its simple rectangular design also features fine locally-fired red brick construction. The building is historically significant for its association with the growth and development of rural education in the area. |
