Additional Information: | 1999: Initial research indicates that the farm was originally owned by pioneer S.F. Everitt, but in 1864, it became the property of Freeman Gates, an early settler who improved several farms in the town of Hustisford. By the early twentieth century, the farm had passed to E. Boeing, who owned it until the mid-twentieth century. Since that time, it has been the property of Wilbert & Anelda L. Giese, who farmed the land until recent years. Anelda Giese still owns the farmstead today. (Plat maps, Butterfield, p. 725, Information from Mrs. Anelda Giese). The farmstead has some historical interest as an early pioneer farm of Yankee settlers, but it is not historically significant. |
