Additional Information: | 2006-ALUMINUM SIDING ON SIDES, REAR ADDTN, RECESSED ENRTYWAY. Building constructed in 1939 by Herman & Bernard Meulemans, the center of the building housed their electrical & plumbing business, while each end of the structure was separate residential space for each of their families. In 1954, the post office moved into the building. 2009- "This two-story building has a flat roof and a brick-veneered primary (south) facade. A storefront with a recessed entry is found in the center of this elevation, which features additional entrances located at each end of the facade. A pent roof divides the upper and lower floors of the front and side elevations, which are vinyl sided. Fenestration consists of single and paired, three-over-one, double-hung, wooden sash windows. The subject building was constructed in 1939 by Herman and Bernard Meulemans. The center of the building housed the Meulemans electrical & plumbing business, while each end of the structure was separate residential space for Herman's and Bernard's families. This business was established in 1928 and originally occupied the former Knuth building at 104 High Street. At first, it was concerned only with electrical work but, in 1932, water systems and plumbing were added and appliances were sold. In 1954, the Wrightstown and West Wrightstown post offices were consolidated and moved into the space formerly occupied by the Meulemans business." -"STH 96/High St Bridge Replacement", WisDOT#4095-12-00, Prepared by Heritage Reasearch, Ltd.
