Additional Information: | 1998- The Onalaska AFRC consists of two buildings: a training and administration building and a vehicle maintenance building. The area immediately surrounding the buildings is mostly covered by asphalt, with some landscaped areas. The facility is located in an urban residential area. The buildings are owned by the Wisconsin National Guard and leased to the Army Reserve. The buildings are in good condition, but neither of them to exhibit significant architectural character or merit. The training building functions as an administrative and drill facility for the Onalaska AFRC. The structure was originally constructed circa 1958 with an addition built in 1963. It is a multi-level, irregular-shaped structure that rests on a poured concrete foundation and has concrete block walls with a brick veneer. Entrances include pedestrian doors and one metal overhead-retractable bay door. Multiple types of fenestration are located around the perimeter of the structure. Flat roofs cover the structure. The building is shared with the Wisconsin National Guard, who occupies the northern two-thirds of the structure. |
