Additional Information: | 1998- Captain G.B. Demsey U.S. Army Reserve Center consists of two buildings on four acres of land. The area immediately surrounding the buildings is mostly covered by asphalt or concrete, except for a small area of lawn in front of the training building. The land has been significantly altered by construction activities and grading for parking areas. The facility is located in a mixed-use urban area. The buildings on the property are owned by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC. Land associated with the facility is leased. The buildings are in good condition. The training building was modified in 1974, but there appears to have been no significant modifications to the maintenance shop since its original construction. Neither of the buildings exhibit significant architectural character or merit. The maintenance building originally functioned as a vehicle maintenance facility, but is currently used for storage. Constructed in 1959, it is a 1½-story square building that rests on a poured concrete foundation and has concrete block walls. The north, east, and west walls have a brick veneer. A metal overhead-retractable bay door is located on the north wall and a single metal pedestrian door is located on the south wall. Two single metal pedestrian doors and two windows are located on the north wall. A low-pitched gable roof covers the structure. |
