Additional Information: | 1998- The Pewaukee USARC consists of two buildings on six acres of land. The area immediately surrounding the buildings is mostly covered by asphalt or concrete, with a few landscaped areas. Repeated excavations during military training have heavily disturbed the training area north of the facility. The facility is located in a mixed-use rural area. The facility is owned by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC. The Pewaukee USARC consists of a training and administration building and a vehicel maintenance building (Organizational Maintenance Shop or OMS in Army Reserve terminology). The buildings are in good condition and do not appear to have been modified since their original construction. Neither of the buildings exhibit significant architectural character or merit. The maintenance building functions as a vehicle maintenance facility for the Pewaukee USARC. Constructed in 1960, it is a 1½-story rectangular building that rests on a concrete foundation and has concrete block walls with a brick veneer. Brick pilasters are located around the perimeter of the building. Two metal overhead-retractable bay doors are located on the south wall. Two single metal pedestrian doors are located on the east wall. Two sets of windows are located on the north wall. A shed roof covers the structure. |
