Additional Information: | October 2005-This farmhouse sits on a large parcel with non-contributing agricultural buildings that were not included in the survey since only the house has historical or architectural interest and was not part of an intact historic farmstead. The house is a two-story gabled ell form with a form and massing of the main block that suggests the Greek Revival style. The main block and ell are covered with an intersecting low-pitched gable roof and have walls covered with clapboard siding. The window openings are largely replacement single-light sashes that are symmetrical on the main block and individually placed or in pairs on the ell suggesting that the ell may have been constructed after the main block. An ell porch spans the main elevation, covering the simple single-door entrance. It has a flat roof supported by round posts, probably from the early twentieth century. |
