THIS BUILDING WAS BUILT AS A PARK SHELTER USING WPA LABOR IN 1939 AS PART OF A LARGE NUMBER OF WPA PROJECTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PARK IN THE DEPRESSION. THE HENNEBERRY FAMILY CONTRIBUTED THE MONEY FOR THE MATERIALS USED IN ITS CONSTRUCTION.
