Additional Information: | 2006- This one-story, L-shaped motel has a side-gable roof and is sheathed with artificial stone siding. The motel contains approximately ten units and features one-over-one, wooden sash windows and modern doors. Attached to the west end of the building is the one-story, hipped roof motel office, which features aluminum siding, a modern porch and one-overone, wooden sash fenestration. Resting on the motel office roof is a contemporary "94 Motel" sign and a neon "No Vacancy" sign. Constructed in 1940, the subject property was purchased by Dale & Marion Cole from Joe & Minnie Schmidt in 1969. Changes to the property include the installation of aluminum siding on the motel office and the removal of at least two cottages that were formerly located behind the motel. -"I-94" WisDOT ID #1030-20-00, Prepared by Heritage Research, Ltd (McQuillen) (2006). May 2017: The front of the L-shaped motel building has been resheathed since 2006 with either aluminum or vinyl, although the artificial stone siding remains on the endwall. Otherwise the property is largely unchanged since it was surveyed in 2006. |
