Additional Information: | This one-story building was constructed as an ammunition storage magazine for the Wisconsin rifle range and was shown in a picture of the 1903 summer encampment. The brick building rests on a stone foundation. The brick walls are laid in six-to-one common bond along the side elevations and all stretcher bond on the front elevation. The arched roof is sheathed with metal. A single metal door with exterior hinges occupies the front (west) elevation. The door in 1955 was a vertical wood door with exterior strap hinges. Three rows of brick headers form a lintel over the doorway. The building sits on a stone terrace near the base of the bluff near the current gate to the installation. |
