Additional Information: | Building 508 was constructed in 1961 as an operations building and replaced an older wood-frame building with the same building number. The one-story concrete-block building has been finished with exterior insulation finishing system (i.e., dryvit). The gable roof is sheathed with composition shingles. The doors and windows are replacement units. Two single metal doors with single lights are located in the north elevation. A gable roof shelters the easternmost doorway. The windows are modern metal-frame units. In 1975, the center doorway in the west end was blocked in and converted into a window, and paired metal doors were installed to access the boiler room. The 1975 work also included the construction of a concrete-block addition measuring 24 x 36 feet with no windows on the west end of the building. The current appearance of the building is the result of renovations completed during the 1990s. |
