| Additional Information: | To be demolished. This building was constructed as one of four operations and training buildings sited overlooking the flightline when the installation became a permanent training site for Air National Guard units. The architect listed on the drawings was John J. Flad & Associates and Mead & Hunt, Inc., Architects & Engineers, Madison, Wisconsin, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District. The one-story building is constructed of concrete block. The gable roof is sheathed with composition shingles. The building originally had a band of wood-frame, four-light windows under the eaves. The original windows were removed and the concrete-block walls were raised to the eaves and finished with a row of brick. The building has four window openings on the south elevation, which currently are boarded up. One metal door is located in the south elevation and two metal doors are located in the north elevation. The end walls are blind. The current appearance of the building dates from the 1990s. |
