Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. 2015 - The Point House is a one-story vernacular frame cottage with a cross-shaped plan, vertical half-split log siding, and combination hip and gable roof sheathed with asphalt shingles. The building rests on concrete piers. There are two screened porches, one facing Beaverdam Lake to the south and the other oriented to the east toward an open grass area. The latter provides primary entry to the house. Most of the windows are eight-light wood casements and typically grouped in threes. A pair of double-hung wood windows is located on a west wall and there is a wood picture window on a north wall. The interior of the Point House includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room. The latter features a cathedral ceiling, half-split log wall and ceiling coverings, and a large stone fireplace centered on the northeast wall. |
