NOTES
Additional Information:Bracked Cornice; round-arched opening in gable peak of cornice; low-pitched hip roof, segmentally-arched openings with brick arches. "French-style" entry door with segmental brick arch. This house was built with a party wall to a frame commercial building to the south. The commercial building has been demolished and the south wall of the house enclosed and is currently covered with vinyl siding.

2003-
A modern opening has been added to the wall that once acted as a party wall. It is in the southwest corner of the wall.

The original owner of the house was Jacob Hamm, who was associated with the Kohlsville store. The first Kohlsville store was built in 1870 and was a two-story commercial frame building sitting south of this house. Jacob Hamm purchased the store in 1875 and in 1881, he had this house built with a party wall with the store. The store building burned in 1911, was rebuilt as the Kohlsville Mercantile Company by a group of local farmers and was demolished in 1967. At this time, the party wall on the Hamm house was enclosed.
