Additional Information: | This two-story, side-gabled house is sheathed with brick and exhibits projecting brick course lines at regular intervals. A single gabled wing extends from the side-gabled block at both the east and the west ends, the latter of which carries a single, multiple-light window along the first floor, while a narrow, multiple-light sash window rests within the gabled peak. The east, front-facing gable carries a pair of sash windows on the first level and, like the east gable, a narrow sash window lies in the peak. Located at the center and along the first floor is the entrance, which is offset to the west; a multiple-light, tripartite window rest to the left (east). The entrance area is encapsulated by low brick walls with short, stone-capped piers. A large, gabled and wooden shingle-sheathed dormer rises from the center of the roof and carries a pair of multiple-light sash openings. Windows throughout the remainder of the house are multiple-light examples and are either placed singly or in pairs. A matching brick garage extends from the rear of the home and features two, wooden shingle-sheathed dormers. The home was originally owend by Jesse R. Preston and his wife Anna. Preston was a foreman at the Nash Motor Company. They remained there until some time between 1937 and 1939, the latter date of which it was sold to Henry P. Lundskow and his wife Amelia. Lundskow was the chief engineer at Peter Pirsch & Sons Co. and later treasurer of the Dynamatic Corporation. |
